Cora Houghton, Licensed Massage Therapist, RYT 500hr Yoga &  Pilates instructor. Cora has been teaching for nearly 2 decades, offering a challenging yet playful blend of strengthening and relaxation; with the goals of current and long term stability, mobility, comfort & ease.

She teaches numerous styles of yoga, in an accessible & trauma sensitive way. She is Pilates trained, with backgrounds in both Stott Pilates, the 500 hr contemporary Club Pilate training and Classic Pilates reformer certified. She includes mat and equipment based Pilates in her client work.

Additionally, she is a trained and certified accessible yoga teacher & ambassador for The Accessible Yoga Organization. She holds two certifications in Thai Yoga Bodywork as well as in stretch therapeutics.

She completed her massage training at Lotus, a program that aligned with her anatomy, physiology and kinesiology fascinations. This greatly enhances what she can offer to clients, and staff at the hospital and medical offices where she currently brings her work.

Cora has instructed in studios, parks, schools, hospitals, weddings and events, federal and corporate settings, for medical research, at a local Inn, in an assisted living community, you name it.

A curiosity of the ways in which the body works was ignited with her own childhood health challenges and multiple surgeries, including full and partial removal of some muscles. In a time when pediatric physical therapy was not a thing, understanding her own movements required investigation and self learning. She enjoys the dive deep of research and experience to understand the uniqueness of the people she works with.

Cora was voted one of the top 5 yoga teachers in the Cville Weekly's Best of Cville 2018 to 2021. She completed her 200 hr. training with Katie Silcox and Karen Thomas. She completed trainings in Thai Yoga bodywork The Foundational Flow and Therapeutic stretches 1 & 2 with Michael Sitzer in 2015 & 2016. She did her advanced teacher 300 hr. training, with Noah Mazé and Peach Friedman, receiving her 500 hr. certification in September 2019.

She continues her own practices and education to bring the best experiences and explorations to her clients, offering accessible and beneficial services to all.
